About CoNIMS<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

CoNIMS, an acronym for Computer Networks, Infrastructure Management and Security, is a Research group in the Department of Computer Sciences, University of Lagos. The Research group was created in 2014 in recognition of the need for a platform to bring together researchers and scholars in the fields of Computer networks, infrastructure management, security, and related disciplines. Its vision is to conduct research that will advance knowledge in the broad area of Information Technology and Communications, while its mission is to conduct research and; apply the results of research to solving real-life problems; publish findings of research in reputable local and international Journals; organize and attend conferences in the research area.<\/p>

The research fields include, but are not limited to the following:<\/p>

  • Grid, Granular and Cloud Computing: Infrastructure, Application, Data Management<\/li>
  • Web Services and Security<\/li>

    In fulfilment of one of the group\u2019s cardinal missions, annual conferences and workshops are organised to discuss contemporary and emerging issues. At the end of each conference and workshop, communiques and proceedings are published and widely circulated. The maiden conference and workshop was held from October 23 to 25, 2018 at the Arthur Mbanefo Digital Research Centre, University of Lagos. CoNIMS also publishes a journal, the International Journal of Computer Networks, Infrastructure Management and Security (IJCoNIMS); the journal is published twice a year.     Uwadia, Onuwa Charles<\/strong> is a Professor of Computer Science at the Department of Computer Sciences, University of Lagos. His areas of specialization are Software Engineering, Computer Architecture, Communications and Networking Systems. He holds a BSc (Computer Science), University of Ibadan, 1979; an MSc (Computer Science), University of Lagos, 1983; PhD (Computer Science), University of Lagos, 1990. He has served the University in various capacities including Acting Head of department 1996 \u2013 1998; Acting Director Computer Centre 2003 \u2013 2005; Director, Centre for Information Technology and Systems 2005 \u2013 2013; Head of department 2013 -2016. He has over 100 academic publications in reputable local and international media. He is a member of ACM, IEEE, and a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society. He has served the IT community in Nigeria in various capacities \u2013 President, Nigeria Computer Society 2007 \u2013 2011; President\/Chairman-in-Council, Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria June 2017 \u2013 June 2021. He is the Chair, Eko-Konnect Research and Education Initiative.     Dr. Oladeji, Florence Alaba<\/strong>, Nee Farewo, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science. She is a scholar of First Class honour in Computer Science and Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. This erudite lecturer is a member of Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria as well as member of Nigeria Computer Society. She bagged her Master degree with distinction from same Obafemi Awolowo University in 1999 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) from University of Lagos in 2010.<\/p>

    She joined the University of Lagos in 1999. Her career in academic which started with graduate assistantship to the present position has accumulated to production and mentoring of many graduates at Bachelor of Science, Masters and doctoral students. She has served in various capacities from SIWES coordinator, examination officer, head of department, postgraduate coordinator to the position of Acting Director, Centre for Information Technology and Systems in the University.<\/p>

    She has contributed to the world of academic through her research publications which centered on computer network congestion management, information security, artificial systems and health data mining. She teaches computer networks, operating system operations research, computer performance evaluation and data science. She also served the University as a member, auditorium management committee, Faculty accreditation Committee, member Faculty curriculum committee, CPN accreditation and NiWIIT 2020 election committee.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    Nureni Ayofe AZEEZ<\/strong> obtained his B.Tech.\u00a0 (Hons.)\u00a0 from\u00a0 the\u00a0 Federal\u00a0 University\u00a0 of\u00a0 Technology,\u00a0 Akure,\u00a0 Nigeria\u00a0 in\u00a0 2005,\u00a0 MSc\u00a0 from\u00a0 the\u00a0 University of\u00a0 Ibadan,\u00a0 Oyo\u00a0 State,\u00a0 Nigeria\u00a0 in\u00a0 2008,\u00a0 and\u00a0 Ph.D.\u00a0 from\u00a0 University\u00a0 of\u00a0 the Western\u00a0 Cape,\u00a0 South\u00a0 Africa\u00a0 in\u00a0 2013,\u00a0 all\u00a0 in\u00a0 Computer\u00a0 Science.\u00a0 His\u00a0 areas of\u00a0 research\u00a0 include\u00a0 Security\u00a0 &\u00a0 Privacy,\u00a0 Access\u00a0 Control,\u00a0 Trust Management,,\u00a0 Physical & Cybersecurity, E-Health\u00a0 and\u00a0 ICT4D.\u00a0 He is a recipient of The Young Scientist Award at the 22nd International CODATA Conference that was held in Cape Town, South Africa in October 2010.     As an ICT practitioner and research scientist, my research interests include Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Bioinformatics and Optimization. My qualifications and institutions attended are: B.Sc. (Computer Science) from University of Benin, Benin City; M.Sc. (Computer Science) from Covenant University, Ota; PhD (Software Engineering) from University of Alcala, Spain; and MBA from Federal University of Technology, Akure. Past and present positions of responsibilities held include: Programmer, University of Jos (2001 \u2013 2007); Business Development Manager, Neptune (Nig.) Ltd, 2008 -2010; Deputy Director, University of Lagos (2012 \u2013 to date). Some of my ICT project management engagements are Project Manager, Nigerian Army Turnkey Project (2008 \u2013 2010), and Project Manager,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 e-Administration Project, University of Lagos, 2012 \u2013 2016.     Koleoso<\/strong> is a Computer Science specialist with focus on Digital Forensics. She has her undergraduate degree in Computer Science from University of Lagos in 2003; Masters in 2009 in Information Security and Computer Forensics from University of East London, UK and a Ph.D. in view from the University of Lagos.     Abass Rasheed<\/strong> is currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Sciences, University of Lagos. He joined the department after graduating with a Distinction during his Master\u2019s programme. In 2020, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) awarded him a scholarship to support the pursuit of his doctoral degree in any Nigerian institution after he emerged as the best candidate from the South West geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
